M Squared will be participating in the Quantum Technologies Showcase 2019, which is now in its fifth year. The event, being held at the QEII Centre in London on Friday 5 November, will continue to recognise and demonstrate the breadth of current investments and activities undertaken as part of the National Programme and the growing commercialisation of quantum technologies in the UK.

M Squared's quantum team will be showcasing its quantum gravimeter and more recent advancements including greatly improved sensitivity and robustness. This follows on from the first roll-out of the system at the showcase in 2017. The applications of a quantum gravimeter, such as detecting underground infrastructure or mineral deposits, require a portable instrument that can easily be operated in the field. Some implementations, such as when it forms part of a quantum inertial navigation unit, also require the gravimeter to work while it is in motion. To this end, we operated the gravimeter on a moving platform, and the results from this critical milestone will be presented at the showcase along with a live demonstration of the hardware used in the test.
