We are delighted to support and participate in BIOS and Photonics West 2021 - the world's largest annual event for the photonics, laser, and biomedical optics industries.
During this year's online event, which runs from March 6-11, representatives from our US operations, scientific laser and innovation teams will be online and available to connect. Our team can introduce you to M Squared's world-leading laser and photonics platforms that underpin many groundbreaking scientific experiments and industrial applications.
We are also taking part in the technical conference, contributing two talks covering some of our recent work and progress in quantum metrology and quantum computing:
(1) Commercial quantum sensors using atom interferometry and laser sources for precision metrology (Paper 11700-5)
M Squared is developing quantum sensors for quantum gravimetry and inertial navigation. Using atom interferometry, each promises performance advantages over its classical counterparts. Each system is designed for use in the challenging operational environment of a moving platform and incorporates active systems that compensate for the effects of environmental noise. Each sensor is presented along with a performance evaluation in laboratory settings and field trials. An account is also given on how M Squared's laser systems are enabling some of the world's most advanced precision metrology experiments.
(2) Low-noise and high-power laser systems for quantum computing (Paper 11699-13) Quantum computing architectures where atom-laser interactions form the basis of qubit manipulation, such as trapped ion and Rydberg systems, lead to progress in universal quantum computation. M Squared is developing many of the advanced laser systems underpinning this progress, including systems designed to implement quantum logic gates with optical and hyperfine qubits with high fidelity. High power systems that are enabling the scaling of qubit numbers are also being developed. These systems are described, along with an account of how the requirements of lasers for quantum computing experiments are expected to evolve in the future.
Dr Joseph Thom, Quantum Technology Scientist at M Squared, presents both talks, which are available to view on-demand from Saturday 6 March 2021.
If you are interested in working with M Squared in any capacity, please don't miss this opportunity to reach out to us. You can find out how to get involved in the Photonics West online community via the SPIE website.
