Sprite

A new approach to ultrafast lasers, Sprite provides broad platform flexibility, plus design features that maximize stability, reliability and productivity. Available in femtosecond or picosecond and fixed wavelength or tunable versions, Sprite is equally at home in the lab or an OEM environment.

A new, more flexible approach to ultrafast lasers, the Sprite product family employs a range of different laser engines, including new, more cost-effective architectures, depending on the performance envelope required. This allows us to choose the optimum technology mix to be brought to bear, according to the needs of the application and user. This flexibility results in a wide choice of available specification set: including output power (up to multi-Watts); pulse width (femtosecond or picosecond models); wavelength range (fixed wavelength or tunable); and pulse repetition rate (<80MHz to multi-GHz).

All Sprite models incorporate a host of design features that maximise stability, reliability and productivity. Equally at home in a laboratory or an OEM environment, Sprite is designed for alignment-free and maintenance-free operation. Depending on the Sprite model, novel design features include: a highly rugged, sealed housing for mechanical stability and reliability; cavity optics mounted on an Invar® resonator sub-plate for temperature stability; and proprietary InvarianT™ alignment-free mount technology. The use of InvarianT mounts provides the ability to factory-configure Sprite for a wide choice of pulse repetition rate, all while maintaining drift-free operation and a compact footprint. InvarianT mounts, coupled with simple and robust passive mode-locking, allows assures reliable, self-starting mode-locked operation.

All Sprites come with unique Instrument Control by Ethernet (ICE) functionality as standard, which allows local or remote control, monitoring and troubleshooting via any Ethernet connection. A netbook control computer and Web-browser-based UI, also both supplied as standard, ensure out-of-the-box productivity. Ideal for nonlinear optics, pump-probe experiments, multi-photon excitation microscopy, amplifier seeding, and electro-optic sampling, Sprite complies with all applicable regulatory design standards, including safety, CE, and RoHS/WEEE.
