Now 5 years old, M Squared Lasers continues to double in size
every twelve months and this year, inevitably, the moment arrived
when we had to up sticks and relocate from our first home at
Technology Terrace on the West of Scotland Science Park. We
moved in August to our new headquarters at the prestigious Venture
Building (also on the Science Park) and so far, so good.
We needed a lot of extra space across the business as we
continue to rapidly expand our R&D and engineering teams as
well as our manufacturing and marketing capabilities: our footprint
has more than doubled at 10,000 square feet (up from 4,000
previously). The additional elbow room has already delivered
benefits including dedicated space for collaborative work - we have
recently hosted working visits from partners KTH (Sweden) and
McQuarrie University (Australia). Our physical location and work
space now fully reflect our organisational culture, providing the
open and collaborative environment which is essential for taking
advanced photonics tools to market.
In addition to being a very practical and beautiful working
environment, we are very proud of our new home's terrific
green credentials: a BREEAM excellent rating (one of the first in
Scotland) and an annual carbon footprint equivalent to just one
return flight from Britain to the United States.
