Product Line Manager - Glasgow
We are looking for a Product Line Manager to play a
key role in the development at our leading-edge technology company.

potential to lead embedded programming development over a growing
range of products
M Squared Lasers is a young, dynamic, growing company
developing a range of novel lasers at their Glasgow facility.
Rising demand and an expanding product range means we are now
looking to recruit an experienced Product Line Manager.
As a Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for the
overall health and growth of the product lines in your charge, as
well as new product definitions and introductions. To this end, you
will liaise with and contribute to all functional assures of the
company, including sales, marketing, engineering and service, with
key responsibilities including:
- Manage entire product lifecycles
from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Manage revenue and profitability
of your product lines, and seek to drive growth in both
- Be the key internal and external
evangelist for your product lines with a focus on customer
satisfaction, new business development and market expansion.
- Sales support - provide first line
internal and external product sales support, including technical,
pricing, lead-time and warranty information. Work and travel with
sales channel personnel as a product expert and teammate to help
promote product value to customers and gain market feedback.
- Service support - provide
first-line customer care, managing and coordinating timely,
efficient and effective solutions to service issues, as well as
driving ongoing product improvement.
- Marketing - provide market
intelligence including an understanding of customer requirements,
competing products, and customer purchasing criteria. Specify
market and product requirements for current and future products by
conducting market research via ongoing interactions with customers
- Attend tradeshows and conferences
to promote products and gain market feedback
- Generate sales forecasts, and
drive product line actions to drive revenue growth.
- Marketing communications - develop
sales collateral and sales support material using product
positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the
marketplace; communicate product value propositions to sales
channels, customers and prospects.
- New product development and launch
- work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service to plan
all facets of new product launches, and coordinate cross-functional
implementation of these plans, including participation in
development and execution of business/financial plans.
To accomplish these goals, you must possess a unique blend of
business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive
to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time with
customers to understand market, customer and product requirements
and concerns, and help define innovative, profitable solutions to
- 3+ years experience in both
sales and product line management of technical products including
direct field sales; experience in sales/marketing of lasers and
optics is preferred.
- Track record of product management
accomplishments and initiatives
- Must be able to lead and
coordinate interdisciplinary (engineering, marketing, sales,
manufacturing, quality, etc) teams through influence.
- Excellent written and verbal
presentation and communications skills.
- Technical education with minimum
B.Sc. in a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering,
Chemistry or Physics. Master Degree or Ph.D. preferred.
- This position requires travel to
customer and non-customer sites, principally within Europe
